Manifesto - CAFETERIA MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

Hello everyone, I am Meet Thakor, a 1st-year M.Tech ICT (ML) student. The cafeteria is more than a place to eat—it is where we come together, spend time with friends, take a break from academics, and share conversations, with food often becoming an important part of those moments. I believe a good cafeteria should provide hygienic, good-quality, and reasonably priced food. I want to serve on the Cafeteria Management Committee to understand how our cafeteria operates—from pricing and vendor operations to food quality and hygiene—and to act as a bridge between students, vendors, and the administration to improve our cafeteria experience.

Why do I want to serve?

  • To ensure that the standards agreed upon with the canteen vendors are properly maintained.
  • I believe that when a standard or commitment is agreed upon, it should be properly maintained and followed, especially when it concerns students.
  • I am comfortable speaking up about genuine concerns and communicating them respectfully with vendors and administration.

My Vision:

  • Being someone particular about food, I want to ensure that what we are served is fresh, hygienic, and up to the required standards.
  • I believe in keeping things fair and transparent, especially when it comes to agreed-upon prices and quality standards for vendors.
  • I notice and speak up about issues, so I will conduct random checks of food quality, freshness, and cleanliness rather than waiting for problems to grow.
  • I enjoy exploring different options and ideas, and I want to bring that mindset to the cafeteria to create greater variety and diversity.

Why Me?

  • My peers from my batch trust me with their concerns, and I want to build the same trust with students across the institute, so they know they can rely on me to listen and represent their concerns.
  • I am comfortable raising genuine issues and communicating them clearly and respectfully to vendors and administration.
  • As someone who is quite particular about what I eat, I naturally pay close attention to food quality, freshness, hygiene, cleanliness, pricing, and overall service.
