Manifesto – CULTURAL COMMITTEE

Dhruva Dafda

202611016 (M.Tech 1st Year)

"A Campus without Culture is Just a Time Table"

I'm Dhruva Dafda, a first-year M.Tech in Machine Learning. Between demanding coursework, lab submissions, and relentless deadlines, cultural life gives us something equally important - a chance to breathe, celebrate where we come from, and build connections that go beyond the classroom.

Why I Want to Serve

  • Cultural events should never feel like an afterthought; they are the few times the entire campus gathers as one community. With 17 scheduled events throughout the year, our committee needs disciplined planning so celebrations run smoothly rather than feeling chaotic backstage. Whether it is a small gathering or a marquee celebration like Ganesh Chaturthi and Tarang, every student deserves an event that feels purposeful, welcoming, and well-managed.
  • If elected, I will serve as a reliable bridge between our batch and the committee, ensuring your input shapes our planning from the start.

My Vision

  • Flawless Execution for Flagship Days: Dedicate serious effort to the logistics, crowd management, and staging of Tarang so students can fully enjoy the festival without organizational lapses.
  • Accessible Cultural Platforms: Introduce low-friction, student-led initiatives such as batch-voted film evenings, acoustic sessions, and open-mic showcases that let people participate without intimidating barriers.
  • Transparent Participation: Establish an open call for volunteers and performers for all 17 events, so stage time, anchoring, and event coordination are available to everyone in our batch.
  • Academic-Aligned Scheduling: Proactively align event setups and timings with academic calendars to avoid unnecessary clashes with major project and exam deadlines.

Why Me?

  • Practical Coordination Experience: I have actively managed online creative communities, coordinating live open mics, handling participant line-ups, and resolving technical bottlenecks in real time.
  • Approachable & Responsive: I aim to be available and am dedicated to listening to constructive feedback and acting on it.
  • Accountability: I view this role as a practical commitment to our batch, with a focus on calm execution, punctuality, and seeing responsibilities through to completion.
