Hello everyone, I am Atharva Dave, a first year Btech ICT-CS student. I am running for the position of core member in the academic committee.
I would like to address two major issues:1. Absence of feedback system regarding the on-going courses
2. Lack of communication and better preparation of TA's
To tackle these issues I would like to propose:1.
In person Feedback System - Right now, many academic issues go unheard or are addressed too late. To fix this, I propose 1-2 in person feedback system.
- These sessions will allow students to openly discuss course related issues.
- Concerns will be compiled and formally sent to both the faculties and TA's
- Follow ups will ensure that feedback leads to visibile action
2. Improving the TA system -
Teaching assistants play a huge role in our academic experience. The system can be much more effective with some changes-
- TA briefing and training by professor before courses begin to align expectations
- Dedicated TA office hours so students know exactly when and how to seek help
- Anonymous TA feedback mechanism to ensure accountability and improvement
WHY VOTE ME?
I will represent both sections equally and fairly without being biased to anyone or any section.
If elected, I will work upon the changes I suggested along with the current and new issues being addressed to the committee.
I aim to ensure that your concerns are not just collected but also acted upon.
