Student Placement Cell
About Me:
I am a 2nd-year B.Tech MnC student, and I have nominated myself for the Student Placement Cell because I want to contribute towards improving the placement process for students.
Why SPC?
I chose SPC because it allows me to work in a team and contribute to improving placement opportunities for students. I am interested in understanding industry requirements and helping students prepare better for placements.
Proposed Initiatives:
1.Flexible PPO Acceptance Policy
Currently, students who receive a PPO after their Summer Internship are generally required to accept the offer, otherwise they become ineligible for the placement drive.
I would like to suggest to the Placement Cell that if a student receives a PPO with a CTC of category II(CTC will be calculated on the basis of PPO, not on the internship stipend), the student should be allowed to reject the PPO and still remain eligible to use the switch rule in the placement drive. This will provide a fair opportunity to students to aim for better career prospects according to their skills. This initiative can improve overall placement quality, student satisfaction, and alignment with industry standards. It ensures balance between commitment to companies and students’ career growth opportunities.
2.Regular Update of Latest Placement Data on Website
Currently, the Placement Cell website shows placement data only till the 2022–23 batch, and the latest data for 2023–24 and 2024–25 batches is not available. This may not accurately represent the institute’s current placement performance and trends.
I would like to suggest that the Placement Cell website should be regularly updated with the latest placement statistics, including recent batches. Updated data will help students understand current trends in salary packages and company participation. It will also benefit companies visiting the website, as they can evaluate the institute’s recent placement performance and reputation. Having updated placement statistics creates a positive impression and increases company trust in the institute.
