Current Issues to be resolved
  • Exam Timetable: There should be at least some iterations of refining the Exam timetable and keeping the Academic Committee in the loop, so that students’ inputs can be addressed, and to maintain a proper balance in the distribution of exams during the exam period.
  • Teaching Assistant Allocation: B.Tech students should be preferred for TA roles due to better course alignment, and converting RAships into paid internships can free up TA positions currently occupied by M.Tech students while promoting research engagement.
  • Branch switching: Currently, students are not allowed to switch from ICT-RAS to ICT-CS, with branch switching restricted only from ICT-CS to ICT, limiting academic flexibility. I would try to initiate actions to make this branch switch possible.
Why me?
  • During my tenure, I, along with the committee, successfully addressed an institute-wide issue of Grading Transparency by collecting comprehensive data on all the courses we offered in Win’24-25 and Aut’25-26. Secondly, we successfully got the new co-curricular policy approved, intended to increase students' participation in hackathons and extracurricular activities.
  • In my upcoming tenure, I will ensure the following:
    • I will make sure that all the ongoing initiatives of the committee, like the Transparent Grading system, the Comprehensive feedback system, the Modular timetable, and improvement in the examination experience of the students, are implemented in the best possible way.
    • I would ensure that all the achievements of the Committee are functioning smoothly in the best possible way.
    • For a better student examination experience, there is a need for an online seat allocation portal, a robust examination feedback system, and effective frisking procedures so that examinations are conducted smoothly without disrupting students’ convenience. Additionally, push for the Academic Committee's formal inclusion in the examination timetabling process, similar to the way the Committee reports clashes and proposes suggestions to the Timetable Committee regarding the Lecture and Lab timetable.
  • As I have served the committee for a tenure and am willing to work for the student community ahead.
